They say that they'll love you forever
and then they don't
and in your wide-eyed trusting loving heart
you believe, one more time
that they'll be the one true love that will last
against all time
because you can.
Sleepy kisses
nestled in
between sleep and wake
softly, slowly, sweetly
rekindling the flame
Sweetly singing
angels winged
whispered kisses
lighted glimpses
of a love
something distant
yet to be
Reluctant Friends
We are a pair of reluctant friends
for we are afraid to love again
This pair of reluctant friends
who can lighten the bleakest day
and help each other through the most
by telling each other jokes
We are a pair of reluctant friends
who have been torn from friends
and never more agreed in their
broken hearts to be best again
and so they are the best reluctant friends they can be
